"I applied for my study permit to Canada on December 28, 2023, before the new GIC rules came into effect on January 1st. I submitted the old GIC requirement of $10,000 CAD, and I received my study permit with a visa stamp on October 23, 2024. I’m now concerned if this might cause an issue when I arrive in Canada. Do you think the CBSA might question my GIC amount, and if they do, how should I explain it?"
