Hello Advisors,

I have a very unique scenario. I would be applying soon for my PNP - Manitoba. My current occupation is as a Long Haul Truck Driver. As I believe, I require 12 months of work experience to apply PNP Manitoba. But unfortunately I got injured on my workplace and I’m not driving since 1 month and would continue to be at home for another 1 month.

As it is workplace injury (category 3 injury) as per WCB, and WCB has approved my claim till further note by doctor to let me work again. So my question is - does these 2 months will be counted in my work experience?

Please advise me. I’m really concerned about my health as well as my work.

Thank you.

Yes, the two months you’re off due to a workplace injury approved by WCB will generally still count toward your Manitoba PNP work experience, as long as your employment is maintained and properly documented. Be sure to include WCB documentation and a letter from your employer confirming your employment status when you apply.
