I applied for my PGWP while waiting for my SP extension, but today, I got an additional document request from IRCC, which says that Payment Receipt: You are required to provide Restoration Fees of $389.75 to restore
your study permit and work permit. Your study permit ex pired on 2024/07/31 and you submitted
your Work Permit application on 2024/11/13 after status lost. Restoration fee $239.75 (since
December 1, 2024.) and$150.00 study permit. After making the payment, please provide the
payment receipt.
This must be received by March 13, 2025.
I think they followed the regulations strictly. My expectation was that since you had an ongoing study permit extension application, your eligibility for status restoration should depend primarily on whether you submitted your PGWP application within 90 days after receiving your completion letter.
For instance, my study permit also expired on July 31st, and I received my completion letter on December 11th. I plan to submit my PGWP application this weekend, before March 11th (which falls within the 90-day window). Initially, I intended to submit without a restoration-of-status request. However, based on your situation and the information you've shared, it seems I may now need to include a restoration-of-status application alongside my PGWP application.
Fortunately, I received a correspondence letter regarding my study permit extension today. I'm hopeful for approval between now and March 11th, which would help me avoid this issue entirely.
I would suggest contacting IRCC directly to get more clarity and confirmation on your specific circumstances. Unfortunately, however, it seems likely you might end up needing to pay the restoration fees. I understand how difficult this must be, especially since you've been unable to work since August. I'm really sorry you're experiencing this challenging situation.
Hi, do we need a medical exam if we are inside Canada? I am on primary and secondary school study permits right now in Canada and have been admitted to a DLI-listed university, so I have been advised to get a new study permit Or should I apply for an extension of my study permit, and do I need a medical exam for it?

Until Oct 5 2029, if you live in Canada already, and you had your medicals in the last 5 years,
You don’t need to have it again. Just include your IME from the medicals in your application
Just got my correspondence letter. I applied 31st July. SP + SOWP. The wait was just too long. I am glad it's finally here
Please how long does it take to get approval after getting a correspondence letter?
