My tracker has updated to Citizenship in Progress and shows that I am scheduled for a ceremony on February 26. This was done on the 8th. Just wondering what is the average turn around time to receive the invitation via email.

Also, I plan to do this in London, UK since I am a student here until July 2025. So I will download my Citizenship Certificate. Would I need to apply for a Canadian Passport in the UK? I won't be able to travel to Canada once I destroy my PR Card.

Please advise.

You can't do the citizenship ceremony outside of Canada (as far as I know). You need to be in Canada for it. When are you travelling to the UK? You can get a 1 day passport as soon as you get the certificate (probably 1 day if you ask the clerk nicely).

I am already in the UK and will be here till July 2025 for academic commitments. I wish to request them that I be allowed to take my oath and apply for a passport through the High Commission of Canada in the UK.

Ah - have you asked yet? Might want to ask asap from your location. Otherwise I know a friend was told to reach out when they were back in Canada and then they were scheduled. Can't you fly back for a week to do the oath and then return to UK? Apply for passport from there then?

Check "You must be in Canada to take the oath of citizenship" section.

Approval for oath from UK is tough to get. They might put your oath on hold till you return to Canada.

If nothing works out I may have to fly to Canada for the oath, and then apply for my passport in the UK like you said.

Which is kinda stupid because the King I am taking the oath for is 12 kms away from me. I will reply to the invitation email and hope for the best!!

Not really. He's the king of Canada independently from UK, and you're swearing allegiance to Canada. But it does feel like you should be able to call him and say it! :)
