I understand you, there is nothing in our power to change this. Yes its not fair and this long wait have huge impact on our life's.
I'm on 597 day since submiting my application and im thinking about mandamus.
The CSIS notes are pretty much this :
"Your security screening is in progress (or other status) and we won't say anything more because of this or that section of the Privacy / Access to information Act .
You can contact us at <mail> or <phone> (but yeah, we won't say more anyway due to above sections).
If you're not happy with the info, feel free to contact the privacy commisionner of Canada."
So, apart from knowing that it's in progress, which you know already, you very probably won't get any additional information.
If your goal is to know why it may be taking them so long, the notes won't help even if you explicitely ask for details.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Two year anniversary yesterday of our file being uploaded to the IRCC website. Only positive I guess, I was able to renew my wife's work permit recently, processing times for this supposedly 128 days which is crazy.
Is there a preferred browser to use if I do decide to request CBSA Notes. Used Safari on a Mac, set up my authentication app which apparently is required now. Went to access the link to fill out forms electronically and hit with error messages. System will be down on Sunday for a spell.
Edit: Appear to have access now so may submit my request online.

Hi All, I have applied my Citizenship application on August 2023. Test Completed on October 2023. Till now my application is pending with CSIS for Security Clearance and I got to know this 2 days back. Based on the forum discussion, I have raised request to CSIS to get information on my security clearance.
Kindle let me know if another request should i raise to speed up the process or any other alternative is there to reach out to them ? You response is muc appreciated.

This week I received a letter back from CSIS in response to my query why is it taking so long to complete these background checks, original sent to then Minister in charge Dominic LeBlanc. The very last sentence in the letter states the following: "CSIS is unable to answer questions related to individual security screening requests for immigration applications. Please liaise with the IRCC as the owner of these programs".
Also waiting for an official work permit that was renewed. Supposedly mailed the week before the Canada Post strike and still has not shown up in our mailbox. I need this to update SIN number that expired for my wife.
Still no final decision on our PR application either after two years either. The Gong Show continues with these incompetent clowns.

Shocked to see the Work Permit finally arrive yesterday, postmarked Nov. 19,2024. Mailed from Edmonton office to BC. Hopefully we finally get some good news on the PR soon.
I am a noob to this topic but I really need your comments. My application has has been stuck in security, and I emailed MP. The email reads:
1 All your assessments are passed except security, which are conducted by third-party organizations, no timeline
2- your security assessment began on November 6, 2024. When military records are requested, the application automatically becomes “non-routine,”,.... checks involving police or military backgrounds often take significantly longer than others.
3-... required to wait for your security clearance results from CSIS and CBSA before they can take any action.
How long should I wait?
Is there anywhere that I can find more about my situation?
