Hey,
Does anyone here know the answer to this? - After the Oath, would we all have to fill out an application form online for the Citizenship Certificate? The online application for a Citizenship Certificate shows a wait time of 18-20 months! I'd go insane if I had to wait all over again!

I believe you might be confusing the Citizenship Certificate with Proof of Canadian Citizenship (entirely different document).

After the oath, you will sign and return the Oath or affirmation of citizenship document back via email to your Local Visa Office and will receive your Citizenship Certificate in the mail in 2-3 weeks.

You can be sure they have not even looked at your webform yet after only 2 days. They seem to have over a month of a backlog for webforms.

Well I hope they won't rescind the oath date when they read it it wasn't at all rude, just strongly worded

Another thing that’s irritating is that there is not a cancellation list that you can be on to just get it done. Because it was at least 3 people who didn’t show for my oath ceremony.

Finally got oath date for March 1st! Thank you for your support! Did you get certificate yet?

My Sons application was received on Nov 3, 2020 .
received mail for Oath - , Mar 24, 2021
Oath date was - March 30, 2021.

But My son was out of country and he couldn't attend the oath. After that we sent many mails to the officer who sent the mail for Oath, but she never replied. its been almost a year and we haven't received any update from cic. what should I do?

Questions:

(1) Update was dated Feb16 and says that we should receive an email with instruction. When are we going to receive this email?

(2) Can we do the oath taking outside of Canada?

As far as I know you should be in Canada for Oath ceremony . I would suggest ask the officer if you can take oath from outside Canada or request for reschedule if you can not come back till March 29th . But I would highly recommend don't reschedule it . All the best .
