Also waiting for my SA. I am a student and working part time hours. Don't know what's causing the delay. It feels really helpless. I received Aor in Jan 2021 and fil submitted Nov 2020.

Hello All,

I have applied for spousal sponsorship (Outland) in March 2020. I only have AOR1 and my application status says "Application Received".

The GCMS notes indicate that sponsor eligibility check is not finalized yet and social assistance check was run whereby nothing was found. As I never took any social assistance. Also it says insufficient proof of income provided (I provided employment letter of my part-time work in Canada), together with strong bank statements.

What are my options now? Will the sponsor eligibility approval be passed or should I forget about the application?

Should I send IRCC a fresh letter of employment?

Wow this is a long wait. I got my AOR March 2021. After that no updates. Only AOR1

didnt they say spousal sponsorship doesnt have income requirement?

I think there is an Income requirement, as IRCC is throwing all the files in the dustbin that don't have a CANADIAN JOB. After 1.5 years still no Sponsor Approval.

There is an income requirement, although the regulations from IRCC say there is none in most cases. Elsewhere they mention being able to support the person(s) you sponsor. That boils down to showing source of income.

yoi should have sent notice of assessment or record of c form where it has all your income information

i never sent them bank statements or job letter all i sent was the record of c i forgot the actual name of it but its on the cra website.

you should send a webform with urgent inquiry and ask them whats going on

Finally have an interview date, anyone know typically what happens at the interview and when a decision is made ? pr ? arrival in canada ? etc..
