Does anyone know if a travel document gets cancelled after the oath ceremony? If I were to travel back to Canada for my Oath Ceremony, and leave the same weekend, will I be able to use my travel document? Or is it possible to have a passport the day after the ceremony? My Oath is on the 16th of February which is a Wednesday, I am thinking of flying back to Canada on the 15th, and going back on the 19th… Has anyone had to do the same?

Your PR card will be cancelled at the time you take oath. You can apply for new passport only after 4-5 days taking oath.

Does that mean the travel document becomes invalid? Also, is that a law that states that you can only apply for a new passport 4-5 days after the oath? If I were to explain to the oath officer that I need an urgent processing of my passport, that would be denied?
