Oh really?? So late? Is this normal? I mean everyone gets the email only a week prior to the ceremony? Just wondering cuz don’t know what documents they might ask me to show before the oath ceremony!
Oath went well, became a citizen on Nov 5, and received my Certificate of Canadian Citizenship a week later on Friday Nov 12. Now I can apply for my passport as well. It's been a long journey but finally concluded.
Hi all!
I heard back from Mississauga office. Same BS about first in first out, covid delays. But I’m in queue for oath. I replied that there are people with decision made after me that had their oath already, which shows that fifo rule is not followed. Not sure they will reply again.

In my case, Surrey never replied to my request for status update. Still haven't heard anything about the additional travel information I sent.
I honestly cannot comprehend what kind of "objective" queue they must be working with in Mississauga =/
Over the weekend I found out about a close friend in MTL.... he applied in oct 2020 and received oath invite a while back but had to delay it since he'll be out of the country. I am happy for him... but daaaaaamn =/

Happens all the time. Those who are out and not in a hurry get oath invites and reschedule, while those who are in Canada and impatiently waiting to take the oath get delayed

Something happened today, though. My husband and I were suspecting they were waiting to invite us both to the oath together. But his application still had some steps not complete. Today, everything moved to complete, except for oath, that didn’t start. Let’s see.

I can’t believe I am here to finally share this. On the day my decision made celebrates 7months, I’ll have my oath ceremony!
My husband was invited as well. So it seems that his application was holding mine back.
Finally some update to my application.

Ugh... imagine all the stress they could have saved you if an actual human being with a bit of empathy had simply replied "You will receive invite until we have made a decision on all applicants in your family group". There... one sentence, that's all it took hehe.
I see a lot of movement recently. Congrats to everyone
DM is nowhere is sight for me. I'll probably be the last one in this group. Might as well start replying to my own comments to keep myself company hehe.
