I am also in similar situation. My work permit extended in January and applied for TRV in March. No news yet from IRCC.

You should check your application form again and if there is any mistake then submit web form as soon as possible.

You can't send your passport without approval and the PPR...

If you send passport without ppr approval they will cancel your application and you will get your passport late.
