Please help!- Dual Citizenship

Hello!

I have renewed my study permit and my CAQ until 2022. I'm waiting for my TRV renewal now, it expired the 31 of August 2021.

I have dual passports, one requires eTA (Spain) and the other requires TRV (Argentina). My study permit was made and is linked to my TRV required passport.

My question is, can I enter Canada with my spanish eTA passport instead of having to wait my TRV extension in my study permit linked passport? What happens if I end up traveling with my TRV expired but my eTA valid?

If so, where can I find this information from an official CIC page?

Oh yeah, that's true. Passport info is reflected on your SP.

This is a tricky situation. Technically, you should be able to enter on eTA as it serves the same function as your TRV - allow you into the country. Your Study permit gives you a reason to stay, and you already have a valid one so that's not a problem.

I am just not sure if you are allowed to enter Canada on a different passport than the one noted on your SP - which ordinarily should be possible cos passports usually have expiry dates so there is a chance at some point you will travel on a different document than the one listed on your SP.

I am just speculating here. I think your best bet is asking IRCC to be sure you get the accurate answer.

After I received a BVL email, I received a second email which has this content

" This refers to your application for a Canadian temporary resident visa. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:  Passport/Travel Document: The passport submitted with this application is to expire in November 2021. Please provide the bio-data page of your updated passport details.  This must be received at this office by: 2021/10/03"

I have updated and sent the info needed.

These are exactly my thoughts right now. I will have both passports on hand also. I’m trying to contact IRCC but no anwer so far neither by phone or mail.

A lawyer in a 15 min consultation told me I will be fine, but it just doesn’t feel right.

i must travel, my mother is sick, but I’m on my last semester and must be able to come back, otherwiseI don’t know what could happen

any ideas guys?

unless you manage to contact IRCC you have the options.

Risk it with the eTA passport and hope for the best.
Wait for the TRV and be safe and sound.

I called three items, the three times they said yes after having to ask to a supervisor or search the info online, although they warned me that it is the immigration officer who has the last call

They can’t guarantee anything over the phone because it will be up to CBSA when you enter. Are you fully vaccinated with Pfizer, Moderna, AZ or J&J?

Given that non-essential travel is now possible you have very good chances of being able to return to Canada. Would make sure you bring proof of your current school registration.

Sounds bizarre but I don't know.

Would not lie and explain that you are returning to your studies.
