There is nothing to suggest it does BUT I did read somewhere that an agent has to sign off on releasing your notes so it is possible that you get a slight advantage in that case that somebody looks at your file to send to you

The department that works on GCMS notes is separate from the immigration officers. Some people claim that ordering the notes did indeed help their application. If you ask me that’s either coincidence or just placebo effect.

True but right now I believe most applicants would need gcms notes if they want to know the progress/status on their application since ircc is no longer taking non emergent calls.
What does “assignment date” mean on gcms notes? Everything is passed and it says approved on my notes but the next assignment date is tomorrow. Anyone?

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive portal credentials after replying to the portal confirmation email?
I have received the portal confirmation email on Aug 28th and replied the same day. On Aug 29th the same portal confirmation email was sent to me again, and I replied again! This happened to my dependant too, and he also replied on the same day as me. Still waiting for the portal credentials to upload the photo and confirm the address.
Also, in the attached PDF, there is no indication of which office is processing my file. This is how the letter finished:
Sincerely,
(GCMS user ID)
(Office’s city name)

Not sure if this could be the situation but i read some thread and someone was in a situation where they forwarded email instead of replying so in subject line it said FW: instead of RE:. So basically they didn't got reply till few days but after doing proper reply they got I think the very next day the email with portal credentials. If this is the case with you, you can try rereplying and ensuring subject line starts with Re:
It won't hurt rereplying but totally upto you.
No nothing yet. I open my account literally everyday 2-3 times to see. But no updates. Its becoming quite stressful. My visa is expiring in 2 months in October. Don't know what to do next.
