I need an advise please!
I have just received a "missing information" email. I applied online in Feb 10th 2021. I have copied the message they sent in my account below.
They are basically can't confirm my time in Canada before the PR, how is this my fault!? I have submitted all the documents and supplied all the information in the application per the checklist, so why the application is returned to me if THEY can't confirm my time instead of simply asking for supplement information while progressing my application (I haven't got an AOR yet!).
I have send them a case inquiry and attached my visa and all information before I became a PR to prove that I was in Canada and still got a very generic reply (like copy/paste from their FAQ) from the agent not the officer who returned the application.

I don't have an application number so calling them will not be any helpful.
If I resubmit again, that means I lost the last 6 months for nothing and it is not even my fault since the issue is in their end!

Please advise what can I do and your thoughts on this?
Is there a way to escalate this and reach the officer who returned my application to get more clarity?

This is the first time I am seeing such a post and this is weird. Was your temporary resident status in Canada within your eligibility period (past 5 years)? What status were you in before you became a Permanent Resident?

My wife got the same letter when she applied by paper application on July 2020
We just resubmitted a new application with visa copies and entry stamp copies to prove that she was indeed in Canada before becoming a PR

Thank you for your reply. I was a visitor (on a visitor visa), stayed for 3 months before I became a PR. so I will get a month and a half credit toward my residency eligibility

Did she had the AOR before that or the application was simply just returned to your wife? did they provide any explanation to why they couldn't confirm the time?

Hi all,

I have received the official test-invitation email. Within that email however, they are also requesting all pages of my passport( I can't remember if I have included all the pages or only the pages that had the stamps). This is pretty straight forward. That being said they have included the following line: "Passport(s) and travel document(s) stamps that are not in English or French must also be translated."

Did you guys do the official translation for the passport stamps from a translation agency? I have multiple foreign stamps, Spanish and Turkish. Also what do you guys do for the stamps that only has the symbol and the airport name? Such as Frankfurt Main? It doesn't say exit or enter on the stamp, so there is really nothing to translate.

Please let me know what you guys did, in-terms of the passport stamp translation.

Thank you for your help.

Dude, you don't get any credit when you were on a visitor visa...
It does count per the Canada website! below is extracted from this link: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/become-canadian-citizen/eligibility.html#time

Each day spent in Canada as a temporary resident or protected person within the last 5 years counts as one half day when you calculate your physical presence. You can use a maximum of 365 days as a temporary resident or protected person toward your time spent in Canada.

A temporary resident is someone who is authorized to enter or stay in Canada as a:

  • visitor
  • student
  • worker or
  • temporary resident permit holder

Hi, I actually have the same question. I have many UAE stamps on my passport and if you notice the whole stamp is in Arabic but there are 2 english words "UAE" and "Entry/Exit". I was thinking maybe this is sufficient but I could be wrong.
Note- I am yet to apply and am just getting ready. So if there are other applicants that have visited or lived in the UAE before, appreciate your response to this. Thank you
