The part about the travelling to Georgia or another country used to be an option but since Covid vfs are not accepting passports in person which is odd because my did her biometrics in Ankara today. So somehow it’s got to be mailed in. Thanks for your response though. Appreciate it

No worries. Even if you won't be able to visit a vfs in person in Georgia you may still send your package out of there with a courier. I believe there are no restrictions on that part. For a return address you can provide a courier's office contact details and pick up your passport from there. As I said there is nothing really to worry about.

Actually the issue is in Iran we cannot use couriers because of sanctions they do not operate there. Hence why the dilemma

I know. This is why I wrote in the worst case scenario you can utilize a courier service by visiting any bordering country such as Georgia and use their office address to get your passport back.

As local and Canadian holidays are finally over has anyone received any update from Ankara visa office recently besides smth related to medical exam as that may be handled by other departments?

I know. This is why I wrote in the worst case scenario you can utilize a courier service by visiting any bordering country such as Georgia and use their office address to get your passport back.

You should give your passport to one of travel agencies whom provide visa pickup services like Nilgam and…they will take your passport and bring it back with the vissa issued in it

Guys can you please share if anyone received any updates from Ankara visa office this week? I think the last time I saw someone getting an update was 2 weeks ago. That was pertaining to subsequent steps after medical results were received, which means it was provided by Ankara visa office, not just another department.

hey. I didn’t get any email or anything. But my wife submitted her biometrics on Tuesday. That evening their was a ghost update showing or cic. Than Thursday on ecas the status changed from Application recieved to In progress after spending a week as application recieved once it was forwarded to Ankara. So I assume things are happening in the background even though no direct communication

Than Thursday on ecas the status changed from Application recieved to In progress after spending a week as application recieved once it was forwarded to Ankara. So I assume things are happening in the background even though no direct communication

No substantial update yet but I had another ghost update happen today (Monday, August 9). Last ghost update I got last week my file change back to in process from application received. Hence they are processing in Ankara. Might get an email if it’s something important tonight or tomorrow

Has anyone received an update recently from Ankara visa office after their application was put in "application in process" status (after submission of medical results etc) ? Our application stayed at this stage with no updates since April and it has been 12 months since we applied... I tried contacting them, but received standard replies saying it is being processed.

@dominic420 Same here. Applied in November, passed the medical exam in April, and since that time no updates. Review of eligibility, criminality, and security checks have not been initiated yet. Have you tried contacting a local MP in Canada? Or have you requested the GSMS notes?

I have tried ordering GCMS notes more than a month ago and no reply on that side. I also emailed pertaining to the status of notes and received an auto reply saying there is a delay on that side too. Tried contacting local MP last November when we were still waiting for AOR and they haven't been really helpful. Will try again to reach their office tomorrow, but I'm starting to lose hope already. We applied a year ago and background check hasn't even started yet.

Do you mind if I ask how you know background check hasn’t started? Are you viewing on cic or ecas?
