I have received test invite for this week but i will be travelling to India soon for few months. Can i postpone the oath if i am not in Canada? if Yes, for how long can i postpone? is it ok if its for 6months?
I'm just kidding. I know I will be a citizen one day but actually my application is was stuck for a very long time that's the only reason I commented.
All the best..
For some people, it makes a big difference.
People who want to work in US in TN visa.
People who want to travel to countries that is not possible with their prior passport (eg. Iraqis)
People who want to vote and run in elections

This is my number one reason for me not to postpone oath date(whenever it comes).

On a serious note, I read here or on fb that one person requested to postpone his oath in September 2019 and he is still waiting. Reason his background checks went back to in process!!!

Unless it is absolutely essential / you have extremely compelling reasons to travel, I wouldn't recommend postponing the oath ceremony. The reason being you do not know when you'll get another slot especially with the current backlog.
From other posts - sure you can postpone BUT whenever you are rescheduled is up to IRCC to decide . They could be nice and provide you a new date soon after you return OR throw you at the back of the line and you’re waiting for another year or more. Some folks postponed tests and have been waiting for a year or more for a new date .

Sorry to jump in with a question, it's somewhat related though - say you decided to postpone, how would you even go about contacting IRCC?
If I understand correctly, once you get the email instructions for your oath ceremony, you get an email you can respond to. What about before then?
