Got COPR for my CEC application while in Montreal Quebec, can we apply for Montreal SIN and RAMQ

Hi All,

I received COPR recently. I am a CEC applicant whose employer is in Toronto, and the employer sent me to client side in Montreal. I would be staying here till 30 June 2020 (as per my contract) which may be increased (not sure).
Can I apply for SIN number from Montreal and also apply for RAMQ health card using my COPR.

Now you are a PR, you can apply SIN from any Service Canada in Canada or Apply via Online.
Yes, you can apply for RAMQ too.

hi @Jesu_18ss due to current covid and lockdowns situation, my stay in Canada might be increased. Do you know how long can I stay in Quebec without it creating any issues in my PR

You can stay longer no limit but its recommended to apply SIN, Like nowwww.
As soon you got ur SIN, u have to update the same to your HR no longer than 3days.
If my guess is right you must be working with TCS

No issues will be created on ur PR( No panic )

Thanks but I m not working for TCS , Yes I applied for SIN and updated it to HR.

How about citizenship application, wont they ask my stay in Quebec (I am planning to apply for citizenship on completion of my 3 years)

Then my guess is wrong... may be something close to TCS.

For Citizenship, it is depends on the checklist you get, i mean it is unique or sometime similar to Applicant to Applicant.

for the RAMQ they gonna ask your CSQ that you don't have since you did express entry. They wont let you do it as you are not supposed to settle in Quebec

Your information is not correct, they do give RAMQ to people with COPR

For citizenship: Permanent residents who spent time in Canada as a foreign worker, international student, or protected person before transitioning to permanent residence may count a portion of this time towards the residency days requirement, where each day spent in Canada on temporary status counts as half a day, up to a maximum of 365 days.

Your information is not correct, they do give RAMQ to people with COPR

The information is not completely incorrect.
There are situations when they will ask for the original CSQ. Especially if the PR was already in Quebec when receiving COPR.
It's different if the PR has landed in another Canadian province and then moved to Quebec.

Mandatory documents, depending on your situation:

  • Original of proof of Canadian citizenship (valid Canadian passport, birth certificate, copy of an act of birth or certificate of Canadian citizenship)
• If you are a permanent resident:
  • Original of your permanent resident card or original of any other document issued by the Canadian immigration authorities confirming your permanent resident status in Canada
  • Original of your Québec selection certificate, if applicable

Because of the specificity of the situation, a call to Quebec's provincial health care provider could be the best solution and help clarify the RAMQ eligibility.

Hello, I'm in similar situation wherein my company is in Ontario but I'm placed in Montreal client location until Sep 2021, this may further extend as well. May I know how did you prove intention to live outside QC, since your company is in Toronto was it easily without any hassel for you to get your PR approved? Please clarify.

Make sure the payslips and T4 forms ahs toronto address, and a letter from employer that you are in Montreal because they sent you, that should be enough

COPR was in my cic profile, email came that there is a message in profile. My COPR has ircc address of Montreal QC only and my current address is also qc, where exactly r u facing problem in writing QC address
