when i applied, AOR with in 5 to 6 months but nowadays after 8 months.

My AR is December 2020 - have tried twice to get a temporary file number and have received a response that my application is not yet in the system yet. Are they not issuing temporary file numbers anymore?

29 December - I sent a webform both times and got:

We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is not available in the system yet.

When an application is received by IRCC, it can take several weeks or months before the processing begins. There will be no record in the system until the processing has begun.

Now I'm concerned they didn't receive it at all and I've been waiting 6 months for nothing

Don't worry, Just wait couple more weeks and then call them, till May 28 I guess.

Call IRCC @ 1888-242-2100 (select option 3-2-2-4-0) and say I mailed my paper base application and ask to check in the system for a temporary file number and they will ask your Country of Birth and UCI number.
