Hi Guys,

I submitted my application in Dec 2019 and got my AOR in Feb 2021. Based on my online profile and my GSMC note my security has started in Feb 2021. I am worried that QSW might take forever, and because I am eligible to apply for the new stream for international students I am considering applying for that stream.

Does anyone here know whether we can have two applications in federal at the same time? (one from Quebec and one from the new stream) and withdraw the Quebec application if the visa officer asks about it.

Much appreciated.
I don't think that you can live in Quebec and apply for the new program. Since your security already started it should be too long. You have a 99% guarantied application why the rescue withdrawing it!? You are going to pass security check anyway.

Thanks.

The stress level QSW imposes is unbearable TBH :(. Also, I am seeing a lot of people from 2018 and even 2017 whose applications are still in process.

About the new stream, as far as I read the details it does not require the applicant to reside outside Quebec at the time of submitting their applications. They should only show their "intention" to live outside Quebec once they get their PR. (I know that residing makes things complicated but I think there is a remedy for it)

There are few people from 2018 and only me from 2017, these cases are in the limbo. I don't think that you can live in Quebec and apply, because Quebec's government didn't accept to take part in this program. I have a friend who is planning to move temporary to Ontario in order to apply. By the way the guidelines are not issued yet, so we don't know. Make sure that you are eligible before withdraw anything. You are going to apply with French or English?

I'll apply with English if I decide to finally do that. Should consult with a lawyer before doing anything I guess.

Do you know how many English provinces are their and how many people will apply, you need an English test and I heard that many people already booked them. They are opening the program at 6th May and the places are limited. If you can consult a lawyer, do it! And don't withdraw anything before you are ask to!

You didnt have tracking on the CanadaPost package? You can call IRCC, they can provide you with the XEP number.
Noooo, I totally forgot to use tracking and I sent with with regular mail *facepalm*.
I sent it April 16th, and I called today to IRCC but agent told me she doesn't see my application yet and she told to wait 1 or 2 weeks and call back.

Honestly you're already in security so someone is looking at your file. You're done with the QSW queue. If you've got stuff they wanna investigate background wise, they're gonna do it for the other program too. In express entry, people who get secordary security don't get their PR in 6 months, they wait however long it takes. So honestly you're better off waiting. If they haven't started your file yet, I'd say go for it.. My 2 cents.

I got lucky that my English test score is still valid. Yeah sure, won't definitely withdraw anything before making sure about everything.

I hope you get good news about your application soon.

This is a valid argument. Security is security no matter which stream. About the queue, do you mean the quota of that specific year? If yes, do you think applicants that have their security started are in the quota of that year?

Thanks.

I don't know for sure but my assumption is that once they pick up your file, you're in that quota. Plus there's alot of catching up they need to do quota wise. I don't think quotas would be something to worry about this year.
