BREAKING NEWS.
New air-travel rules coming to Canada:
-second COVID-19 test needed on arrival
-three-day mandatory hotel quarantine = ~$2,000
-if negative then 14-day quarantine completed at home
-if positive then 14-day quarantine completed in hotel
-no start date yet.

Maybe this will help to easy out lots of minds. Our application was received on June 3rd and stared processing on Nov 6 2019. DM1 was on Nov 20, 2020. As there was no moments in the file nor we have not received any correspondence even after DM1, applied for GCMS notes on Dec, 2020 and received on Jan 27 2021. What we understood was that SSC Alberta has not responded for the first requested sent on Oct 2019 and second request was sent after one year in Oct 2020 and reported back in first week of Oct 2020 on the negative and then the DM1 on the later part of Oct 2020. So the situation is that though we never got the letter DM1 is passed and the application is at V/O app is yet to start and V/O is not working. fingers crossed. At least know that the file has moved.

What in GCMS notes indicated your file is being stuck at SSC Alberta ?

If everything in India is pretty back to normal, why don't they open Visa Offices and start processing the applications ?

Hi Reezam , I think we have similar application dates and application status . mine is June 14 and status is application received. remember last time you mentioned that your status same as my application. did it change since then ?

Biometrics requested: Aug 2019 --
My mother-in-law has valid biometrics from 2017 (visitor visa). But father-in-law doesn't, and due to COVID he could not travel to VAC center (Turkey, he is in Iran) .
Application In process: 8 August 2020
Medical requested: 27 Jan 2021

In their cic account it shows "we don't need your biometrics, we let you know if this changes".

My question:
- Did anybody else have similar experience (medical requested while at least one person in application doesnt have biometrics)? What happened next?
- Given the above message and COVID situation, should my father-in-law travel to Turkey to do the biometric anyways or is it better to do medical now and wait to see what happens?

I suggest you email Ankara embassy and inquire about biometrics considering the travel restrictions. Regardless, they need to perform the medicals asap.

Hi All, Just stumbled upon this and think this community is doing alot to help people out which is just awesome..

I applied for my mother (single parent) and her dependent child (sibling under 18) under PGP program in 2019 (May).. her application is still in progress but her passport expired and had to be renewed in meantime.. can someone please guide me on how to update her passport information on her application file?

- They had PCC + medical done. The covid hit and things have come to a standstill.
- My office is CPC-M.

Sadly, my dad passed away 4 weeks ago. He was the principal applicant. My mom was the dependent.
Now I need to make my mom as the principal applicant.

Questions:
I need your help to guide me as to what do I need to do to update their file and make my mom as the PA... and how?
1. Anyone in this situation, can you please suggest - do I need to call them? Or submit webform?
2. Is there any compassionate grounds for processing my mom's file quickly? As I am here in Canada and my mom is now alone in India.
3. Do you suggest I should apply for a visitor / supervisa in parallel?
4. Can an MP's letter help? What's the overall process to do this?
5. Lastly, is there any chance that my mom's immigration application can be refused as my father is no more? Or is this something that happens regularlry (make dependent a PA)?

You should read previous posts from this member. and yes you can switch principle as long as the principal is blood related.

Medical Pass : Dec6th 2019
PA DecisionMade : March 3rd 2020
Virtual landing : Jan 26th 2021

Sorry to hear that, CIC will ask for a death certificate. Send a scanned copy to them via webform.

Any news from CPC- Mississauga ? My application has been received May 21, 2019. Bio (October 2019) and Medical (February 2020) done. But no change since March 2020. Thanks
