An urgent question I would be grateful if someone can help me ,I am trying to schedule my biometric appointment but I am facing a problem in filling my name at the VFS appointment portal.

Actually I don’t have a surname(family name or last name) on the passport so I filled in my Given name as family name in the permanent residence application as per CIC instructions and left the first name field blank.Now the problem is that the VFS portal requires me to fill both mandatorily.

How shall I proceed please assist , there is only one date showing up for appointment and that too next month so I would appreciate prompt reply/ies.Thanks!

No I think they won’t know because I need to take appointment with VFS outside Canada as I am outland applicant and not with Service Canada

If I were you, I would try to book it writing “No Name” or “NA”, they should be able to change it during your appointment or try calling your VFS, they should be able to help you

They don't match your name according to your passport, they need only appointment, just take BIL and your passport with you and officer only scan your BIL code and take your fingerprints and picture

Contact VFS etc, otherwise repeat same name in both fields. I did it once with VFS. do you have a UCI #?

Obviously, if he got BIL then definitely UCI and Application number on it as well

Thanks everyone for your valuable inputs .The problem is its night here and I can see only one date here right now which might not appear tomorrow morning when the centre opens.

Suddenly I thought of checking other countries’ vfs appointment portals like USA offices which would be open now, if they also require both fields to be filled in and I found they also do require both the fields to be filled in.I called them and their reply was either to fill in NA or repeat the name twice in both the fields as my friends suggested here.

You should go for upfront medical when your processing time shows under 12 months and I think your completion date would be 19 Dec,2021 .Even better go for upfront medical when you have cleared eligibility and receive PAL
