Hello! So my situation is that im at the end of my IEC, ive been offered a job and signed paperwork etc but my start date is after my visa ends. I will be on implied status by then. Am i allowed to work for that employer? Because it says you can carry on with current employment only. Help!
Is this job offer supported by an LMIA or is it LMIA-exempt? You would need to apply for a work permit before your IEC expires to have implied status as a worker. Otherwise you will have to stop working and change your status to visitor.
Yea i am applying for an open work permit, so i will be on implied status when my visa ends. My question is does it count as being employed already.. if i have an offer and contract? It says that on implied status you can only carry on with employment you already had, before your visa ended. Just need to clarify whether job offer and contact count as being employed or not?

I am applying for PNP restaurant manager. Its currently excluded so im trying to give myself more time in hopes it will come back. Working full time with that job. Trying to get a second job which offers a ski pass for winter. I have been offered the second job, but start date is 6th November, when i will be on implied status

I don't think OWP is available for your situration. I think you can only apply for close work permit with LMIA or job that's LMIA-exempt.
You are not waiting for PR. You are trying to work while waiting for PNP rule to change so that you can start to apply..... I don't think OWP is available for this.
I know this im only applying for it to give myself more time. I only want to know if i can carry on the the second job? I understand all other aspects of my situation
So you are applying for a work permit that you already know that you won't get and trying to use the implied status to work 2 jobs?
I don't know. More senior members will need to reply on this.

You'll be applying for an open work permit when you do not qualify for one. This means that you're going to be refused sooner or later. Yes, you can continue working while the OWP is being processed. However once it's refused, you'll need to stop working. You'll also end up in Canada without status and any work experience gained after your IEC expired cannot be counted towards PR. Hopefully your lawyer made you aware of all of this.
Once the OWP is refused and you end up out of status in Canada, you'll need to either leave or apply to restore your status to visitor (which won't allow you to work).
I know you are leaving things in your lawyer's hands here. But I'm not sure I see what the path to success is here. Do you have a clear understanding of what the lawyer has planned?
Yes i understand all of this... Unfortunately because of covid everything i have done in the past, and every other option i had, are now gone. This is now my only hope, that they put it back on. If not i will be going home. All i want to know is if i can work the second job?
