Just checked my application status, and it shows that they sent me a correspondence on 2nd September which I didn't receive, called IRCC they said to wait for 5 working days to receive an email, in any case, I asked the agent what is the email about and he mentioned it is about fingerprints, so my question is can I get my fingerprinting done before I receive the email just to save time or should I wait for the email. Also, the agent mentioned I need to send my fingerprints back to Sydney, NS. I was under the assumption that once the file status changes to "In process" after AOR the file is in your local office which in my case would be Vancouver... anyone recently got their fingerprinting done in and around Vancouver? I know there is an office in downtown that does it because I did the same when I applied for citizenship in the first place, I don't know why they need it again.

It looks like they are sending the criminal records of yours, not the actual fingerprints. As the records expire in a year, they are asking you to do it again. Possibly they should start updating their email saying "fingerprints for record search" rather than saying just "fingerprints".
2/2 as a part of their citizenship grant application. IRCC is reviewing operations and considering options for resumption of services which could include online citizenship tests. The social media team cannot comment further at the moment. Thanks for understanding
