Interesting how long it will take now..
I applied April 1st

Nobody knows.there is delay in pretty much everything.me myself waiting for copr.everything was completed on my file on 11th of march 2020 .still no decision made.20months since aor and counting

My work permit expires this Friday and still no decision

I am not sure about this, but I think that for PNP through the Express Entry category you have to wait to have an ITA (this is, the province finds you in the pool and sends you an invitation to apply)... you cannot apply directly. That said, it would be more or less possible to be picked depending on your NOC and the province.

The processing times for temporary residence work permit extension has been reduced from 89 days to 39 days and now it says 36 but why they are not processing it.

I think they do nothing for the application that need biometrics before 17th July.
and their processing time is 36 days. so we may wait 15ish more days at least.

Just resubmit the same documents you submitted before with this new application and write a letter to explain that you are applying for the balance of the time for your work permit.....

Don't take chances. Apply for BOWP by mid August

Can you work with your work permit in process , what happens to my SIN, it has a expiry in Jan 2021?

Just resubmit the same documents you submitted before with this new application and write a letter to explain that you are applying for the balance of the time for your work permit.....
