I have just confirmed from the Service Agent of ServiceCanada for applying SIN. She recommended 2 options. One by Online and another by registered mail.

Option 1 :- Registered Mail :-
She said if you don’t have address proof then you can send the documents by registered mail and it will take 20 days to process the application but in that case we need to send Passport and COPR in original. You don’t require to send address proof in this mode.

Option 2:- Online Mode :-
In this most of us have doubt about proof of address. I confirmed from her that if we have Rent Agreement which is easy to made, then that’s perfect to be as a proof of address. This mode is more faster than the other one and more convenient.

So I’m going for the online mode by getting a rent agreement (a single page document) which is easy to acquire.

Hello, I have the same situation as yours. What you did after all?
I got a Canada visa stamped passport ending 17th July. I took my H1B visa date on 26th June BUT somehow they canceled all appointments. The US-Canada entry is restricted until the end of June. Can you please suggest me what to do in this situation? Even I will go to Canada, without H1B visa stamping, I can not come back to the US. Please give me your input. Thank you.

Guys, What to do? I am completely blank in this situation. There are no H1B visa dates available in Canada in the month of July or August PLUS India is lockdown so no dates available in Indian consulate as well. If we are 3-4 people then we can make whats app group for better communication and help each other. ??

Brother, The entry to the US is still restricted to essential workers so I do not think we would be able to demonstrate to US immigration that your entry is essential.

I don't think IRCC New Delhi has yet re-opened any approved applications for extension if I am not wrong. We need to wait for lockdown to relax a bit.

Shriram in this forum had raised a webform in May only.He has posted some days back asking others that it anyones file status changed from approved to in progress I doubt he is the fb person or not.

Hi. Anyone here whose application status changed back to in progress after copr expiry. I haven’t landed yet due to COVID-19. Is this a sign that my application has been reopened for either re medicals or the officer is looking into it as I raised a webform due to my inability to travel? Any thoughts is highly appreciated. I'm not sure if that's the case. Mine expired May 12, but no updates yet. Just the generic replies and one email reply from Singapore VO, asking me to notify them once I am able to travel.

Profile shows counterfoil has expired, everything else unchanged.
