That's the thing. Called IRCC many times and always the same stock response. Same answer was given to the MP as well. Just that it's in process. Which doesn't make much sense to me

Did you also apply for those notes that show status of application?
Anything weird with your application? What is country of origin; lots of travel? Especially to places that are considered less than normal holiday destinations?
I replied to this post before. Here a update just in case anyone else are in the same situation. I recently called IRCC again. The agent told me my test record is not in the system yet (they don't have my score in the system two months after I passed the test. So I guess that is why I've been in process for long time). So the agent sent a follow up to the office to investigate on my test record. They also told me it will take about 30 days for an update.
It looks like the office was lost on track with my file.
that means i have to call them too!! or they can discover this themselves ! it is been approx 4 months now and i am still in process, i guess i have broken all the records for waiting

If you are just talking about being In Process four months is nothing. The time for the entire process just to DM is 12 months, In Process is often 7-9 months. Very rarely below 6. The post you replied to seems to be delay after test record to DM. If you have only been IP for four months you are likely 7-8 months into the process and may well receive a test invite within 2-3 months and still complete within the normal 12 months.
my interview was on 5th Feb, 2020 at Scarborough. The Officer was very gentle and polite. He simply asked me as to why I am visiting my native country. He just smiled when I told him that I being single father I have to attend social functions of daughters. The he told me that every thing is fine on the file and I have to wait for oath which may take 1-3 months.
My timeline:
Application submitted =07.02.2019
In process 16th May 2019
Interview = 5th Feb 2020
DM = 6th Feb 2020
Now I am waiting for invitation for oath.
Hi
On 5th Feb when IRCC officer told me about approval of my citizenship, informed me to bring only one guest at the time of oath ceremony at Scarborough.

Had mine on 28th. The room is divided into to 2 halves, candidates on one side and fam/friends on other
Additional guests were not allowed in the room (if there is no more seats). Once ceremony starts, the room is locked and excess guests stand outside, unable to hear or see anything inside
No standing allowed (i.e. only occupied seats, no standing) in the room for fire safety reasons

For what it's worth yesterday, guests sat at the back while those taking the oath were divided into two halves in the front. Total 281 (out of 1800 this week alone). I'd estimate about 50 guests standing as well.
