Gone through the 19 pages of this thread and my hope almost dead! Granted there are very few cases posted here, but looking at these cases you wonder what they are doing in NVO all day long.

Here is my timeline:

FSW-Outland (Online application)
AOR: 26 September 2019
Medical Pass: 18 October 2019
Biometric Request: 18 October 2019, gave 25 October 2019 (still showing pending)
RPRF Request: 21 October 2019
Called IRCC yesterday (31 October 2019) asking why biometric still showing pending, and they said visa office will update and not to worry about it. I asked my application progress and visa office and the agent said she cannot access the file since it has been transferred to Nairobi Visa office. I was extremely glad, because I thought they will just do second verifications and send me PPR soon. However, looking at this thread, I will be lucky if I got it this year!

@Getty Any update on your case? Anyone else still lurking on this thread. I created a Whatsapp group for East Africa Applicants, so send me a message and I will send you the link. Posting here the whatsapp link is not allowed.
my oh my! How did you get through to a person at ircc? I have been trying but didn't get to a human answering the phone at ircc. I tried calling the high commission in nairobi they told be they don't deal with sponsorship cases, I tried calling the VAC office and got the same answer too. such a pain

I called IRCC customer care. Download mobile app called Textnow. Choose Canadian number. Then from the app dial this number:

Don't press any key for the language selection.

Yes, they can only help when your file is in Canada. That's what I wrote in my first post.

What do you want to ask them? Perhaps you can ask on the forum. If it is just follow up on your application then send email to [email protected]
But they tend to take long time to answer and once they do is very generic response.

yeah there's nothing they can do. our file is stuck and its been more than 12 months. October 9 was when it actually hit a year. and since May it has been stuck at security verifications not initialized. Every time I ask them they say we cannot give you an exact time of when we anticipate completion. Everything else is passed medical too. They sent the pre arrivals in July but nothing else since that. I have been contacting the mp in my area and that's how I came to know about the security verifications. We have been waiting since I was pregnant untill I have a baby and now the child is 6 months. Maybe now we are considering if I flew out of country to have the child see his father or something.

I got additional document request- Police Clearance from Kenya, i have no idea why because i have not lived in Kenya for more than 2 months within the last 10 years but yeah! It's a process to get it, my fingerprints arrived this weekend and will be taken to DCI tomorrow hopefully. Not sure how long i have to wait for them. My VO is London, UK

Ohh! Strange. Man at least they are touching file. Mine no activity since it was sent to Nairobi visa office. They have not even updated my biometric as completed even though I gave it 10 days ago.

London VO is also damn slow from what I read on the forums.

Really, no one knows when to expect update from NVO. They seem to be slow and unresponsive to emails and web forms specially if you send before your 6 months is up. You just have to wait.

For GCMS, you can use family or friend in Canada to order for you (you still need to sign the consent form and they need to add that in the request) or use third partly. I used GetGCMS.com and they are reliable with the data.

The great thing is they are working on your file and it is not parked somewhere. Ghost update is almost always great news as that would mean you passed something (criminality, eligibility, or the file is approved). You can order GCMS to know the details. Or the fastest way for you is to send web form to Nairobi visa office and ask update on your application. Ask them specific questions like if eligibility, criminality, background check are completed since you already passed the 6 months deadline they will have to respond to you.

Nairobi office will just reply with the same monotonous general automatic reply. Nothing in specifics. I have tried asking those specific details and nothing new. maybe when my gcms come in they will do something. 14 months of waiting.
