Hi,

Staring this thread who apply Spouse PR in 2019 and live in Quebec.

Application processing seems stuck after they issue CSQ. Most of us (those on WA group) stuck at this stage. There is no medical request after CSQ is issued. So there is someone out there who has finished the process it will be helpful to provide the timeline.


Please share your timeline:
When did you apply spouse PR application under the family class to CIC?
When did you apply CSQ (after you received a request from CIC)?
When did you receive CSQ?
When did you receive CIC medical request after CSQ is issued? (If any)
When did you receive passport request? (if any)

It's pretty absurd, on the MIDI website it says they're currently processing applications "up to"
- June 18, 2019 for a spouse, common-law partner or dependent child;
- July 28, 2019 for other family members.

That's almost 4 months ago, and they're over a month behind on spousal applications versus family members applications. That's crazy.

I know.. they received my undertaking 2 weeks ago and charged my credit card a week ago. I don't understand why it would take 3-4 months for the rest of processing, it's such simple forms..

AOR: Sep 19th, 2019
SA passed: Sep 20th, 2019
Biometrics request: Sep 20th, 2019
VO: Sent to Manila, Philippines on Oct 3rd, 2019
CSQ requested: Oct 3rd, 2019
CSQ submitted: Oct 3rd, 2019
AOR2: Oct 7th, 2019
Medical request: Oct 14th, 2019
Medical completed: Oct 15th, 2019
CSQ CC charge: Oct 23rd, 2019

it went overall super fast except CSQ...

Hi The process to receive the CSQ is taking between 12-17 weeks now. I applied on August 14 and I'm still waiting Don't expect to receive your CSQ before 4 months or more. And the IRCC part is normal, I have not yet submitted my medical exam and they told me that we should wait for the csq to continue the process.

Hi Folks,
I am a Canadian PR from March 2019. I recently found work at Montreal, Quebec. I had originally applied for PR with non-accompanying dependents (wife and daughter), which means the information about them are already on record with IRCC. Now i have to start family sponsorship process. Please give me some pointers on where to start.
1. Can i start the application soon after joining work in Montreal, or do i need to wait for 3 or so months?
2. Does consulting an immigration lawyer speed up things?
3. Can I apply for visitor visa for my wife and daughter, during family sponsorship process? If yes, at what stage?
