hi everyone. Our documents to get the Mexican police certificate was received by the Canadian embassy in Mexico City yesterday. We expect a long wait but does anyone know if it’s possible for our application to move forward in the meantime? (Get AIP, SA, or DM)....or does the wait for the PCC put the application to a hault. Also, is it possible for background check to finish while waiting for PCC? Thanks in advance

I got the letter in one day after I requested it from the Embassy. They won't get it done without the letter, aid it will only be valid for 30 days, so no point in getting them ahead of time.
Hello !!!
For me was 81 days to get the police certificate I’m inland (Toronto) after that one week to get AIP AND I DO T REMEMBER GOOD THE DATES but now I’m permanent resident and the Pr card took 15 days to be deliver to my place
Hola!!

Hi, do you have any update in your timeline related to the Police Certificate from Mexico (inland)? Has the Canadian embassy sent it to IRCC? How long did it take to process the certificate? Thank you.

Hi, are you sure that you’re talking about the process in which you have to send fingerprints to the Canadian embassy in Mexico, they have to send it to Fiscalía, and at the end, the embassy has to send it to Mississauga? It sounds like you’re talking about the police certificate that you get by yourself, not the embassy one.

hi. I have an update. My belief is that IRCC lost the document for a while, and that is why it took them longer to process.
dates were:
- December 13: sent documents
- March 26: Canadian Embassy in Mexico reported receiving the certificate and sending it to IRCC (my case was being processed out of Edmonton)
- mid-August: I got the letter to send the passport to IRCC and conclude the PR process.
the gap between March 26 and Mid August was not normal. They did not openly disclose they had lost the document, but I called many times and, in Mexico they said they had already sent; in Canada they said they did not have it... tough stressful times

Hi, we received DM on Tuesday. We sent our documents to Mexico July 24, they were sent to the Mexican authorities August 9 and results were sent to IRCC October 11, DM October 15. So it took almost exactly 2 months for it to be processed

I’m so sorry, they ask for a lot of things, but sometimes they don’t take a lot of care in their process.
Thanks for sharing and congratulations!
