Dear members, need your help. Wondering does background check start before pre arrival or after pre arrival once immigration officer is satisfied with relationship of spouse?

Not sure what the pattern is. Our GcKey still indicates that background check hasn't started but today by email they said application was in background check. We got pre arrival last month.

When my hubby sent webform a bit over a week ago, we got a reply that file under review by officer... so not even sure when they done background check. Unless it’s possible to rely on gckey: it was started on August 16.
