Today I got the following reply from Ralph:
Dear Bhawna - I spoke to IRCC regarding your application received Apr 12, 2019. It is at the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa.
Standard processing time is 6 months. This means 80% of routine applications are completed within that time frame, while 20% take longer.
Criminality passed.

My aor is 12 April. I m Very worried now. With this speed it's going to be more than 6 months
I am from India and I want to contact CIC to know my application status. or pending things. on what contact number shall I contact them?
I m worried as received no response since May 2019. I m also worried if I have missed any important mail from cic.

Correct me if I’m wrong guys but I think Mr Goodale’s office is only helpful for cases that have taken longer to process and for inland applicants that have extreme urgencies for PR if their work visas are about to expire etc?
Again I think we shouldn’t worry if we’re still in the 6 months timeline, that’s just giving them extra work of consulting cases that don’t need to be checked yet and taking time away from helping those who really need it. Let’s put ourselves in their shoes there’s really nothing more they can do but find out the status of our application which we can do ourselves (by either calling or ordering Gcms notes). It’s thousands of applications and I’m sure they’re doing the best they can to process them in the allocated timeframe.

I know what I'm going say is not gonna sound good to many of mates but I really encourage everyone not to contact Cic, different visa office and ralph unless you need to update something important or if your file is taking longer than 6 months. Because every time you call they have to access your application and this can increase the delay in your approval. Trust me or not people who never contacted receive their pr fast. It is better to stick with the information provided at your cic gc key account. I might be wrong about above comment but this is what I experienced. At the same time it is very very important to contact cic if you application is taking too long.
