On a side note, IRCC fax won't accept something that's too big. I am not sure about the size but I tried to fax a 10+ page document to them in 400dpi then got rejected due to the size was too large. I downgraded to 300dpi and problem solved. I did also send the original document as a follow up when I received it on hand from overseas.
@DC1018 How long did it take for the case officer to acknowledge the receipt of the document faxed to them? I have faxed my dad's death certificate on 31st July and called CIC today to check if they received the document. They said the case officer is yet to update the file hence they are not sure if they received it. Asked me to call back on 12th August again to confirm.

Umm I am really not sure then. Unless you selected a very different option somewhere in between.
May be try calling the consulate and see if they can help.

Question: Do we get Biometric and Medical request around same time?(Asking as my parents will need to travel overnight to another city to get it done.)
Question: Do you need to take an appointment for Bio metric in India?

Honestly I have no idea. It was the very first document request for sponsorship approval stage. I faxed the scanned copy in advance knowing that I'd send the original by Canada Post within the next two weeks. Therefore, I didn't even bother calling them to find out about the fax. This was actually suggested by the IRCC call centre agent, fax first in order not to delay the processing then send originals in later.
However, later in the PR stage, I just emailed my documents, call centre agents said originals didn't need at that time for some reason.
