Hi everyone,

I am hoping someone can help me, I submitted my husband application in December 2018. Medical and biometric done in March 2019. Background check started in April 2019 I believe and on July 20 2019 they asked for photocopy of his passport which I submitted online yesterday. And then I received an email saying my application has been transferred to London office for further processing.

Does anyone know why they requested for photocopy of his passport? Also how long London will take? I heard between 7-9 months, but my husband's background check was started in Sydney in April so it should be quicker no?

btw, I am sponsoring him from Afghanistan. Anyone in the same boat as me?

Yeah, my husbands application was received on December 2018 and his file just got transferred to London office for further processing. Dont know what that means since Sydney office started his background check.

@rafzy AOA, In one of your posts I saw that you had called CIC. Can you please share the number? Also, can I inquire about status of my spouse's PR application? I would like to find out whether it is still in Sydney?

+1 888-242-2100 this is the phone number, but only PA himself or official representative is allowed to get information. You still can try calling...

CIC contact is 888-242-2100. You can only inquire about your spouse application if you are authorized representative of your spouse application.
Helpline agent should be able to give you this information.

Can you share your complete timeline ?

Your husband file got transferred to London VO because your husband needs visa stamped on his passport and not a printed letter as he needs visa to travel from Afghanistan to Canada.

Was your husband passport requested under PPR email ? Can you share the request sydney office sent you for this ?

When was your application sent to London VO ?

Can you also confirm what does your husband ECAS status showing under PR application and also share details under PR application TAB on ECAS ?
