@YULIA-2016
Please add my application information to the tracker:

Parents Country of Citizenship: INDIA

Invitation Received Date : April 24, 2019
Application Received by CIC: May 24, 2019
so my parents are in Canada and the letter says they must leave Canada to take biometrics, I called the agents and they said no work around, your parents must leave Canada to take biometrics, for some unknown reason they keep saying you should not go to USA to take biometrics. When asking repeatedly why, the agents just say if you have legal status in USA such as citizens or green card then you can do there, otherwise you should go to any country that you can legally enter. I said they can apply for visitor visa, but they keep saying same thing. Nearest place to take biometric is Mexico city and it costs at least 3000 for 3 of us to go there for a day to take biometrics. Not to mention that not many direct flight there and most connect in USA which requires transit visa. Mexico requires appointment to take biometrics and the slots are not available all the dates so it is very hard to arrange a trip there, cost can be over 4-5K for direct flight for 3. So very upset with this burden, not to mentioned my parents just recently did biometrics for super visa.
I think, Biometrics, if recently done for super visa, should be valid.. Did you told this to the agent.. On this forum one gentleman had mentioned that biometrics done in 2016 is valid for 2026 and therefore, not asked for biometrics by IRCC.. I will find that post and will come back to you..
With less than 30 calendar days now, it is too much a risk, what happens if US visa rejected. It is sad but they have to return right after taking the long flight here
Right that's true, forgot about the time restraint. I think you should be able to for an extension at least. You did not expect this to happen, nor did IRCC/vo expect your parents are not in the home country or country of residence. Good luck!

Can we all send request to CIC to consider giving more time for biometric or allow exemption for those in Canada at time they got request for biometric? I believe more people request they will listen? This is a huge burden, parents are visiting us in summer and now many are in limbo
yes that is very strange. I suppose they thought most of the applicants would be based overseas when they asked for biometrics.
Maybe you can plan a trip to your home country while you take the biometrics? Visit relatives and friends?
At the end of the day, the amount in healthcare coverage would be far more than the 4-5k. Consider it an expense to get the PR?
Actually to put it in perspective, all of us would have to spend some money to get our parents over from wherever they are anyway (ie plane tickets from India, Australia, China, Europe, New Zealand, UK, Malaysia etc) . So consider it part of the whole process and expenses?
Given that IRCC is processing applications upto 10th May on July 5th and they will have lot more applications coming in June before the PGP closes, you can expect another 10-12 weeks before seeing progress so I would say 2.5 - 3 months.
Not yet. You can or ask sponsor if not you to call IRCC to find out the status. The agent will reveal if it's passed but will advise to wait for a final and official letter. But if you situations don't change significantly during the interim, I don't see any reason your case will be rejected.
Received biometric collection request today. only for my dad. when I submitted the application, the application form indicates that my mom is in Canada and my dad is in China. Thanks
Hi everyone..please let me know after you have sent the application what was the next thing you did in process?
Do we make any kind of account to check the status of application or we get any email with a case # to create a account?
Did anyone received any response through email whose application was received by them after 13 June?
