Hi,
Can any one advice me on how long it takes to get your Canadian visa stamped from India after submission of passport for PR.
This just a query, as my application is still under process.

After the passport is submitted, it takes about a week to 10 days to get the visa stamped!

How does one get to know that their background check has started?
As I see this on my ECAS on the sponsor side :

1. We received your application on April 25.
2. We sent you a letter on June 9
3. “We started processing your application on June 8.”

Is the 3rd point the background check? Kindly let me know

You can check on GC. It will say “we are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information”.
That line on ECAS that says “we started processing” is technically your AOR2. It means that whichever Visa Office you have been transferred to, has officially started processing your application.
What is your VO?

Hi Jessie! Actually we have a representative and I can’t link my application to the GC! All I can see on the ECAS is

Sponsorship side

1. We received your application to sponsor DEEP on April 25, 2019.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on June 9, 2019.
3. We started processing your application on June 8, 2019.

We received the SA email on June 17

Permanent Residence side

1. We received DEEP’s application for permanent residence on April 25, 2019.
2. We sent DEEP a letter on June 15, 2019. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
3. We sent DEEP medical instructions on June 18, 2019. To avoid delays, please provide us with the information requested as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
4. Medical results have been received.

Can you please help me to understand whether my PRAS application is processed side by side and the BGC has started yet? The applicants on my same date have got their files transferred to Mississauga VO. I don’t know about mine as the representative hasn’t received any email regarding transfer. Please let me know how far am I from the final decision

Then your file must still be at Sydney. Whether they are processing your background check or not is hard to know as you don’t have access to GC.
But your application looks like it’s moving. Remember that it’s a 12 month process, and you’re only a few months in
Your representative will get the file transfer email when it happens. Hard to know when that may be; some people from October and November are still waiting to be transferred. Stay patient, it’ll happen in good time

Sad Canada day here, alone in Canada without my spouse. Maybe next year will be a happy Canada day.

On top of that, they aren't even processing applications today, which means another day of us waiting. I'll be happy when Canada day ends, and all the immigration officers go back to work tomorrow! Tomorrow will be happy immigration application processing day, which quite frankly means a lot more to me at this moment.
