@darkproc you are right about the last question to link the application.

1.Received by CIC on April 29th.
2. Ecas updated today, the status is "application received on April 29th".
3. Today linked the application to my account on canada.ca and got the application number and the status is " We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you."

The trick is the last question that how many family members on the application. In my case: me , spouse ,one kid, father and mother. When I filled 2 or 5 then get nothing. I filled 3 to link the application finally.

Hi All, I did not get the actual file number email notification, but I went to my account and was able to link my application, and online account shows my file number and application is received on April 26. I am not sure when they will send me the actual file number mail notification. Will let you know once I receive the email. But I can see the file number online.

I have some last minute confusion about IMM008Dep
I am only sponsoring my 2 parents - does this form still have to be filled ?

I somehow recall seeing that if there wasn't more dependants then I that form was not needed .
Now I am not so sure ?!

Yep, that form is only for apps with 5+ dependents

I apologize if this came up earlier, but do I need to notarize copy of my PR card as well? I notarized all other copies in India, but assumed we don't need to notarize PR card since it's a Canadian document?

No, only docs that are not in English or French needs to be notarized

Finally linked my application. The tricky question is the last one: how many family members on the application. In my case: my mother-in-law as principal applicant, my wife as a sponsor, me as co-signer, 3 kids as dependants, my mother (applied for both at the same time). The correct answer is not as in question 7 in form IMM5768, but actually 3 to link the application finally!

Imm 1344 and imm 0008 show new dates of 6-2019 at the bottom of forms. Just got back signed forms from parents and plan to mail on Monday. Do I need to update the forms? Not easy to courier back and forth again.
