yes I called them and agent did send a reminder. Also in reply to the latest web form they said that a reminder is already sent. I should raise a new web form if I don't hear anything till 31st May.
Everyone goes through the "security in progress" stage. Most people get a fast review, but a very small number need a more lengthy detailed review. Given that your eligibility pass date is very recent, they probably haven't decided yet whether your file needs detailed review. Note that very few files go through the detailed security review, so there is nothing to worry about at this stage.
I thought for those who have no problems at this stage the security check changes to passed almost immediately (or within less than one day). So if you see "in progress" that means you are gonna wait for a long time because you have SS.

Also, I could see the "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."
