You should put Canada as country of residence.
Students and workers are also temporary residents. So, they don't live here when they are on study permit and work permit?
Only when they ask country of permanent residence, you shouldn't put Canada.
I think you need to fill two copies of Generic application, Background declaration and additional family information.
You will need to fill only one Application to Sponsor, Financial Evaluation and Income Sources.

Where did you see that we have to fill two Generic application forms???? Application guide says below. Please do not confuse people if it is just the thinking.
Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) Who must fill out this application form?
This form must be completed by:
In the past couple of years, under lucky draws, IRCC has learned (they had data) how many of those applications they received were ineligible, incomplete or simply the person did not submit their application even though they got selected (due to family situation had changed, etc...), so they come up with the larger number of 27K while aiming to receive 20K completed application. This 7K buffer or "extras" serve as replacement for those ineligible/incomplete app.
It will get very interesting to know if there are more than 20K eligible/complete app, what are they going to do? My guess would possibly that, they would all get processed but it may negatively affect the (reduced) quota next year (?)
I think IRCC will send email to all 27K who submitted and got the confirmation number. Now, after June 28, IRCC will know how many of those applications are INCOMPLETED and would get RETURNED/REJECTED, and the remaining is expected to be 20K.
What interesting to know is, what if out of 27K, there are MORE THAN than 20K applications completed/eligible, what then would IRCC do?
Looking at the Application to Sponsor Form. It is asking for the Signature of the sponsored person (Primary Applicant). How do you get this if they are in another country tho?

I think you are right. I went through all selections from A - 9 for both number or letter as the second character, the total add up to ~26.3K, seems like and hopefully all will receive the invitation these two days. but then what... another speed game?

thank you for your response!
I have asked another question but not sure if you answered, but do you think we need to include a copy of divorce certificate? because they didn't ask for a copy either!
- i only ask this one more time because of your 'hero member' status, feels like you should know a lot lol

No. Just because you are using two forms, it doesnt mean it is two applications.
One of your parents is principal applicant and the other is the dependent of the PA.
All forms together is considered as 1 application - 2 applicants. You mail every form all together.
