Was expecting to see many more PPRs today ....the silence is making me nervous....it's so relieving to see even other Nov Aor getting their golden mails....
Same here ,he said that background checks are in progress but I am in 1p1
5 months today. And he told me that they have same information as we have. But then how come he knew that file is in Ottawa and no concerns are seen on file.

Thank you gentleman. I have emailed CIC and Pretoria High Commission to change my visa office. Have also raised CSE. If I don't hear by next Thursday will send another email and then copy to NDVO as well. This long weekend may cause some delays so I am prepared for that.
Hi Navkrish, background not started per se doesn't mean they are not doing the background check. process activities keep on happening and if you order GCMS notes you will notice that many a times your eligibility, security etc moves from not started, calculate, calculation in progress, not started again and the cycle goes on till it becomes passed / met when officer finally approved it with his or her comments.
I get the feeling the officers are lazy to work today and they're expecting the long weekend If it was me, even I will be looking forward to the long weekend break lol.
Maybe next week, they will start picking our files and clear everything quick
Hello, I'm unsure as to whether I need a bridging visa or not... my work permit expires on 21 May 2019, I received the Ready for Visa email on 9 April but as I've been out of the country I only sent off the passport docs today. If my PR card has not arrived and has not been validated at the port of entry before my work permit expires on 21 May, do I need a bridging visa to continue to work until the PR card is completed? I haven't been able to find a clear answer on the Gov website so I'm a little unsure as to what I should be doing! Any replies much appreciated.

They say that to everybody because they're tired of us. Someone in the thread was told "nothing has started" and a couple of days later they received PPR

Once you receive COPR you are fine, you can use your landing as proof as status to continue work, extend your health benefits and get a new SIN, you won’t need a BOWP as you have already got the ready for visa email, also if your status would have expired before such you have 90 days to restore your status but that doesn’t apply to you dear, congratulations on your PR status
