Hi guys,
I called IRCC last night and as predicted the agent was a little angry about me calling before the 6 months period has lapsed, but I said I needed to plan some international travel and therefore needed the information.
Anyhow this is what I found out -
Criminality check - Not started
Security check - Not started
Visa Office - No information available as yet
Eligibility - under process
This is a little disappointing as I was hoping I would be closer to background check by now. Anyway, let's wait for another few weeks to see if anything changes.
She's a permanent resident because she moved there when she was a kid with her family, but never became a citizen. She lived there most of her life, until she moved in 2012 to come live with me. The "It's complicated" aspect comes from the fact that she hasn't lost her PR (she maintains this due to the clause about maintaining PR under circumstances that would normally cause you to lose it) but she has been living in the UK long enough that she is not considered to be resident in Canada.
So to do spousal sponsorship, she'd have to move back over there without me, resettle to 'become resident' (it's not clear anywhere if she would have to spend the minimum period to maintain standard PR for this to be the case or just have a permanent address and job there), get a job, ensure she was earning sufficiently to sponsor me, then apply to be a sponsor and *then* we'd actually have to go through the processing time.
All whilst being separated and supporting ourselves financially as individuals. All in all, a huge volume of additional stress and financial strain by comparison (and the average processing time is closer to a year once you start).
Applying as FSW-O, as she is already a PR, my application is effectively filed as a single person even though we're married, but it still introduces potential for complications in my application based on how the score was worked out. I plan to make a post about it once it's all done as it's own thread, as when I started, I had a lot of questions which I've seen asked here but never answered (at least, not sufficiently)

I just managed to call IRCC. 30 min waiting time. Agent was a bit angry about calling before waiting 6 months processing time. I said I just wanted to learn individual stages. Anyways she didn't refuse and after some security questions she put me on hold for checking and here are results.
Visa office nova scotia Sydney at the moment
Criminality and security have not started.
Eligibility has just started.
Once again she said 2 months is so early to see some progress. She suggested me to wait patiently.
Hello guys I need a suggestion. I called IRCC today regarding status of my application . After going through so many option finally the automated system took my application no and year of birth .. and they told me the same thing mentioned on my online profile LIKE EXACTLY SAME THING.and when I tried to talk to the agent ,,they hung up due to large volume of calls .my AOR is 3 dec and medical passed on 15 dec after that I haven’t got any update ..they haven’t even started my background check . my friend got PPR on feb 11 and her AOR was 5 dec .. I don’t how they process the application .is that processing based on CRS scores ??? How can I talk to an agent regarding my status ? Thank you in advance
Mate ! Acc to current trend it's take 4 months to start BGC ! And all applications are treated differently fews lads get PPR in 4 months some in 6 months .
Recently, I noticed very strange thing in my profile. I have AOR of 26.12.2018. MEP on 06.02.2019 and since then I am in IP1. Till yesterday, the estimated time was 4 months which is almost 16 weeks. However, today when I checked my status, it is showing estimated time of 18 weeks which is 4.5 months. I am really confused about such increased timeline without any updates in file.
Can anyone tell me what could be the possible reasons for that?
And today i called the CIC, there was an automated response. Reached to point where the information is asked: "Application Profile number and Year of Birth" to check the status..
After a brief pause the response said: We are unable to find your application in the system. I gave my profile number and year of birth.
Has anyone faced the same issue?
AOR: 29th DEC
Med Passed: 11 Feb
Current Status: IP1
The review of additional documents section changed from

This is a real update rather than a ghost update right?
I haven’t seen this typically as part of the usual steps so I’m wondering if anyone knows if it’s a good omen for the processing of my application?
