Hi, if somebody can help me.
1) Do we need to submit parents marriage certificate even if you are sponsoring just 1 parent and the other parent has expired? And no dependants.
2) My birth certificate does not have mother's last name but it is on my passport, will it still be ok? Any additional documents we can use to support?

1) The other parent has expired. So both don't need to pass medical. They will most likely request a death certificate if you don't submit one upfront.
2) It was the same for me. In addition to passport copies and birth certificate, i sent an explanation letter indicating how generic last name such as "Singh" and "kaur" on birth certificates was common from where I am. I also sent a copy of my parents' old ID that didn't have their last name on it.
Anyone? Just want to know if there is a template that needs to be followed for getting PCC in India? Or is it just going to the local Police station and asking for a PCC?

My husband is Indian and his parents also did not have marriage certificate despite being married 40+ years. So they went to court in India to "get married" again and received the certificate of marriage.... Maybe same thing your parents can do too?
thank you for the idea...there is process for old marriages that are not registered, but the process is very cumbersome to the fact that applicant need two witness who should be in the marriage pictures. 40 years ago in India not all marriages had photographers.

My parents got the marriage certificate in a single day in Delhi. They told me that all process is online. They just have to attach 3 affidavits. One for each person and one joint. Also they have to take 2 witness to sign it and they have issued the certificate same day. Total cost came to Rs.900. In SDM office they will try to scare you by asking bullshit like marriage photos and other stuff. But as per the Hindu marriage act anyone can declare and registered their marriage. Also the funny thing agents outside were asking 40,000 rs to get the marriage certificate.
But the problem in India that rules are not clear with documentation.
