Severance pays usually will have T4 slips being sent out so you have to claim the amount as income if you asked it to be paid directly to you as suppose to moving it to an RSP. Hope this helps!

In my case it was not transferred to RSP and a single T4 was issued (having both regular income + severance pay in single box).

I am not able to see anything specific to Severance Pay on my T4. In which box they enter ?

All I can some amount in Box 67 and Box 52

EI earnings and severence pay is income and tax paid on these. Line 150 will show totallity of all income. EI is not welfare.

Can someone help me?

I sponsored my dad in 2018 Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship. CIC just requested me death certificate for my mom but she died in 1982 and we do not have a death certificate. It would be a hassle to make it in India and would take months. Therefore, can I provide any affidavit or a document that i do not have one. If someone have a format, please let me know

My ECAS for sponsorship application changed to decision made on Friday. Fingers crossed that I get my sponsorship approval this week.
Application received 23rd May
AOR received 1st of October
Ecas changed to in process November 26th

Had anyone here been asked to submit proof of income sometime after the application was sent for CIC to get an update of your financial status?
Concern is anyone can lose their job anytime and after 3 years of high income.
