It is due to upcoming federal elections and the fact they have distributed the load of London Visa office. So it's becoming efficient now!

No...if you are an Oct 2017 applicant, you should have got PPR till Oct 2018...(or atleast in November 2018)

Guys, my fiancee is planning on applying for a Canadian Visit Visa. As her passport is expiring, she also plans on renewing it before applying.
Is it a good idea for her to:
a) renew her passport before our nikkah? it will have her fathers name instead of mine as husband
b) apply for a Canadian Visitor Visa before the nikkah and before I apply for her PR?

Will her visit visa (if she gets it) stay valid throughout her process for PR?
