I am in the same boat as you, and the response you got is the same one you will get whether the MP or you submit the inquiry request, nothing useful.

they send an inquiry on your behalf. Meant to add more pressure and sometimes they get more details than you would by calling the call center.

Called CIC today as my application was received on Oct 19, 2017 by CIC.

Agent said that due date on my application is Nov 2018, so i should expect something in next few weeks. Not sure if that will happen though.

No test invite yet.

ok Thanks I get some relived. My application was received on Nov 7th 2017 I have not received anything yet. Online status only says in progress. Do you have the contact number to call CIC ?

I have a good news to share. Just received my oath ceremony invitation for 5th Dec. It's been more than one year since I applied. I contacted my MPP last week. They enquired and received a response that my application is approved. I received an email for the oath ceremony as well.
