Isnt average and median the same thing?

Lets say there are 5 numbers 45 60 78 90 110

Average is (45+60+78+90+110)/5 = 76.6

Median is central number in the series which is 78

Yup!

Median is also known as "p50" i.e. 50% of numbers are 78 or lower in the above series.

I believe IRCC aims for p80=6 months i.e. 80% cases resolved in 6 months or less.
