PF statement of spouse valid for POF ??

Hi Seniors,

Please confirm if the Provident Fund statement of the spouse of primary applicant considered for proof of funds?
If so should the statement be attested by the company payroll or PF office?

Yes it is ok.
But you both should have funds, and she must be a part of application

Does it mean, say I have 1 lakh and my wife 50000.

Together I can show 1.5 lakhs as PF statements and remaining money in other formats??

We cant be sure whether Cic will accept PF as proof of fund.. Better have it as an extra back up income..

I don't understand what a PF is and how you would get your money out of it. Could you please explain? The money has to belong to you and be liquid and transferable. If you had to pay for rent and groceries could you use it? An life insurance policy or pension fund that requires either death of the insured or having reached retirement age before it can be cashed would be of no use for POF purposes.

Provident fund is nothing but i pay a small amount of money from my salary to this account.

This will be dispersed to me back in full, in case I leave the company and join another employer. I also have an option of transfering the accumulated funds from one employer to another or withdraw in full to invest else where.

In case of immigration, PF statement would suggest the balance I have on this account. I would need to necessarily quit my work in home country to travel to Canada. So in other words, PF can naturally be liquidated to actual spending in Cananda.

In my company, I have seen people withdrawing money from PF account after quitting.

CIC has kept this POF as mandatory, so that come one comes here able to survive even if you don’t find a job for some time. POF should be in a form that you can carry along with you and used for your survival

EPF is perfectly acceptable means for POF. You become eligible as soon as you leave your work and transfer to other country. So these funds would be available to you when you make the big switch ..

I have seen many people use it as a POF in FSW 2014.

I got the same question.
Because I have lot of money In my Provident Fund account which I would like to use as POF.

Hope answers given by members here is right.

Now I am planning show it as POF

yes i did the same.i cant assure you if this is the right method as I haven't got PPR yet. but I m 70 percent sure this is the right way to do (if u don't have much funds to show).
