Thanks to all for your relevant answers. Just a simple question for my knowledge (might sound silly though). What does background checking includes apart from security? Are criminality and residency status parts of background checking or it deals with some other issues. Thnx.

Does anyone know what really they do at IP stage? I'm from Toronto & stuck with IP status for around 4 months. Any clue what's going on? Is it only me or the whole bunch of application from my area?

You are not alone my friend. IP since March, about 4 months have passed with no progress.

Applied Dec 11 and no Test Invite yet, should I be worried? My friends who applied in Jan got invites for test. Still shows In Process online? Where can I find the ECAS notes or something about whats happening?

Hi Guys, is there any progress recently for the applicants in York Region, GTA, Ontario area?
My application was received on Dec.7, and IP on Feb.7. Then there is no any update till now...

Similar to mine My receiving date is Dec 13 and IP since 28 Feb. No news since than.... I am from East york, Toronto

Here is my question. I got me invitation letter today for mid August my test date. But my last name is wrong on the letter, it has my ex-husband's last name while all my documents are on my maiden name. I have already requested twice CIC for fixing this on my file, once in April and the other in May.

Can someone please let me know how it will effect my test? or what else I can do to fix it? I had called CIC and they had sent a link to request it and I have done that twice already.

You have done your part. Just call them again after a few days and ask if they’ve updated that. Good luck!
