and I did send two sets of photo's (one from Walmart another from shopper drug mart) that save me for the photo to be rejected again.
The agent told me, photos that I took from Walmart were not good again but photos from shopper drug mart were good.

Landed March 24, primary applicant updated to approved on May 10, received PR card today in mail.... worried about the two dependents on the application. Still just says “submitted.” Is this normal?

Did you try to call the CIC and ask about it ? It's possible that the address provided only applied to you but not your dependents, as it did in my case that border agent updated only the main applicant address after landing. I called days later to double check my address to find this problem.
