You don't need a US visa to flagpole. Drive to the border, go through the US gate, tell them you're here to flagpole. They will know as they do them every day. They will give you "administrative refusal" and tell you where to go to return to Canada. Tell the Canada agent you came to flagpole and let them guide you where to go.
The same for me, Dec 12. I really don’t know what is happening! I was sure that the delay could be just maybe for a week or two, but there hasn’t been any news at all. The last time I called they confirmed that they sent an email to Mississauga and that I just have to wait. After I linked the application online there hasn’t been any changes. I am getting worried that it might be refused or something, even if I don’t see a reason. The worst would be that they wait for all those 5 months and then they refuse when I am out of status!
I was finally able to talk to an agent last Friday afternoon. She said that they received my OWP application and it was noted in the system but an application number wasn't assigned and it wasn't moving so she said she sent an email to them to follow-up and ask why my OWP application hasn't been processed. No need to resend the application to Vegreville as they already have my application. She said to wait for a response from them. I told her my concerns that by May 19, I will be out of legal status -- she said call again once it's close to May 19th to follow-up if I haven't received the OWP by that time.
I'm not sure what's going on with our OWPs or why they are taking so long. I'm pretty sure they're processing January'18 OWPs now.
A couple of weeks ago I called the call centre - they said at the time they'd email the Mississauga office.
Fast forward to today when I called them, they informed me that the Mississauga office still hasn't opened the email they sent them. So basically, I just have to wait to hear from them because there's nothing else they can do.
They said my application hasn't been as I have an application number and it's in the system.
Tbh, I'm so fed up with the whole thing. After today's conversation I've just given up on getting my OWP any time soon
It seems like that our batch was put to the side or something.. because they could see in their system that the OWP application has been received but no action has been taken.
Me too. I've stopped looking at the mailbox daily and waiting for the postman to arrive.
June Applicant here, nope. After passed medicals, silence. Kind of to be expected. I think we might hear something within a month. I have a friend whose wife applied in March 2017 and she hasn't heard back after her medicals at all. They are still waiting. It's pretty sad.

I am aware of that. My question is if I need a TRV to "come back" to Canada during the flagpole. I only have my work permit and I know you need to have a TRV when you enter Canada. I wasn't sure if that's the same with doing a flagpole.
No he did his PRRA in December 2016, the decision was made in July 2017, but the notice to present himself for the results was sent to his old address (even though he had given them his new one), so we only received the results in February 2018, which is when he was ordered to leave
