Go to ECAS and follow the instructions there on how to update your address
there are many options that appear and actually confusing me to choose which option is correct.

by the way is it good idea to update my adress on eCAS. as i mentioned that i already sent the relevant docs and even received their reply that they received it. but it is not updated on eCAS yet.

My VO is also Trinidad. Apart from those from the express entry category I haven't heard or seen anything from others for months now. They seem to be sleeping on QSW applicants.
Aww man, I have really not been on the forum for a while and have definitely not been receiving my alerts. How has your process been coming along? Where are you from?

Hey guys,

I know this is a really late reply, but I had nearly decided to give up on the whole process. I had gotten a new job and wasn't as hyped anymore about moving to Canada. It was pretty exhausting, so I just decided to relax and let God do as He willed. That said, things really started moving for me within the past month. This forum has been really helpful and I wanted to share so that someone else could be blessed.

I received a Medical Request from the IRCC on the 29 March 2018.
The following day I received an email that asked for my Passport and some other documents such as an FBI clearance. It reads (directly copied and pasted):

Your application for permanent residence in Canada has reached the final stage of processing. Please read
the following letter carefully and complete the necessary steps in order to finalize your application.

Steps to follow:

 Complete an immigration medical exam. Applicable instructions and forms have been sent to
you in a separate email. Please note that the medical exam must be completed at least two weeks
prior to submitting the other documents outlined in this letter
, to allow for processing. Please also
note that medical conditions requiring further tests will cause a delay in processing, you will be
informed by our office should additional tests be required.

Provide your original signed valid passport for yourself:
- Your passports must be valid for at least one year from the date you completed the medical
exam requested above. This will be the date by which you must arrive in Canada as an
immigrant.
- Each person, including minor children, must have their own passport, and there must be at
least two blank pages in each passport
- Ordinary passports are the only type of passport into which a permanent resident visa may
be inserted. Diplomatic, official, and other special passports are not acceptable
- Passports that are not signed by the holder are not valid for travel

Citizens of countries who do NOT require a visa to visit Canada, are NOT
required to submit original passports. Please submit a photocopy of the biodata
page of your passport.

Provide two (2) recent photographs for yourself:
- You MUST visit the following link to obtain the EXACT photo specifications:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3998E_tempA.pdf
- IMPORTANT: If you submit photos with incorrect specifications, the photos will be
returned to you which will cause a delay in finalizing your application.

You must complete an updated IMM 0008 (Application form) and IMM 5669 (Schedule A
Background Declaration).
To obtain the forms, go to:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp#immigrate

o IMPORTANT: Questions 8 and 12 of your Schedule A MUST include all activities
and addresses for the LAST 10 YEARS. If you fail to provide all information for the
last ten years, your forms will be returned to you as incomplete and the processing of
your application will be delayed.

 Provide an updated Police Clearance Certificate for yourself for the Bahamas. Provide a FBI
police certificate
for yourself.

 Provide a legal-size pre-paid courier envelope/airway bill addressed to yourself for the return of
your passport and your original documents.

Complete the Passport Submission Form (below) for yourself and submit it with your documents.

How to submit your documents:

Documents should be submitted via courier service to the High Commission of Canada in Port of Spain:

You must submit all the items listed above within THIRTY (30) days from the date of this letter (or

  3. We started processing your application on February 20, 2017.
  4. We sent you correspondence on March 29, 2018. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
  5. We sent you a letter on March 29, 2018. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
  6. Medical results have been received.
I know this a long post, but I hope it helps. I've been waiting for a Medical Request for a while now, and in my case, it seemed as though they asked for it along with my Passport. No DM and no prearrival letter (still not sure what that is). After I receive my FBI clearance, I will mail the IRCC and update the forum as things develop. I'm not done yet, but it seems like the finish line is getting a little closer.

Be encouraged. It's all in God's timing.

Hi 514orbust

Hey,

Thank you. It's going on 17 months for me, so the process has definitely tested my patience. That 3-month timeline wasn't really going to work. So I enquired with my lawyers, and for the first time, in a long time, they really earned their money. lol

The agent that was dealing with my case said that she only knew of one other client that was able to get their clearance within a week, but she was not entirely sure how they did it. The only thing she could've told me was that they had done it online. So, I did a little digging and apparently, there is an option for anyone (local or international) to receive their results online via an eDo service that gives you your history check back anywhere between 3-5 business days electronically.

As far as I can tell, you have to mail all of the documents that they've asked for via a trackable mail service (FedEx, UPS, etc). You then go to this website and make your request electronically:

https://www.edo.cjis.gov/#/

Going this route will require you to pay for your History Summary online via a credit card (that they immediately charged for me). Afterward, they sent me an email that contained the following (blocked out personal info for obvious reasons):

Your Identity History Summary Request has been accepted and will be processed in the date order in which it was received.

Name: 514orbust
Your Order number is: xxxxxxxxxx
Your payment verification code is: xxxxxxxxx

You indicated your fingerprints would be delivered by: MAIL

Please refer to the following details when submitting your fingerprints:

If delivering your fingerprints via Mail, please send your completed fingerprint card along with a copy of this confirmation email to:

FBI CJIS Division
ATTN: ELECTRONIC SUMMARY REQUEST
1000 Custer Hollow Road
Clarksburg, West Virginia 26306

If you have any questions regarding this e-mail contact 304-625-5590 or [email protected]

I then forwarded the above email that I had received from them along with my mailing address, telephone number, the name of the carrier service and the carrier tracking number as per the instructions on their website to [email protected], while requesting that I receive the History Summary Check electronically. They later replied by saying:

Thank you for your inquiry,

If you have applied online through our new Electronic Departmental Order (EDO), it takes 3-5 business days from the date when the fingerprints are received in our Processing Center to complete the request. After your request is complete, you will receive an email notification. You will then go back to the original email where your PIN is located and type the PIN in to review your report in PDF format.

My documents arrived to the FBI last week Friday (April 6th) and I have not received anything as of yet. I am giving it until Tuesday before I enquire further or ask for that 3-month extension. I will definitely let the forum know if this proved to be successful. Wish me luck.

More specifically, along with my case agent's testimony and the following is the reason that I decided to follow up on the above post:

"Option to Resubmit via eDO

If you submitted an Identity History Summary request on or after November 1, 2017 via trackable mail only, you have the option to resubmit the request electronically via eDO.
  • Visit https://www.edo.cjis.gov and submit your application and payment.
  • Forward your eDO confirmation e-mail to [email protected] and include the following mandatory information in your e-mail: mailing address, telephone number, name of carrier service (i.e., FedEx, USPS, DHL, UPS, etc.), and the carrier tracking number for your original request.
  • Upon receipt of your e-mail, we will locate your original request and use your previously submitted fingerprint card to process your electronic request.
  • Note: You will only be charged for your eDO request. If you submitted a certified check or money order with your original request, it will be returned to the payer via U.S. Postal Service First-Class Mail. If you submitted credit card information, it will be securely destroyed."
This was taken from the following website: https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks

By Tuesday, I will let you know if I am either a genius or if "I am too smart for my own good" :p:):D:p
