hello! I am from Canada and my husband and I got married Aug 2017 and now getting paper work together for sponsorship. My Question is can he apply for Open work permit at the same time? Thanks

Then no. Only people in Canada can be eligible for an Open Work Permit. He probably wouldn't get a visitors visa if he applied either (or else we would all bring our spouses here now...lol)

i was probably misinformed ...but i already knew that this was impossible. So I guess i will go visit him 1 more time and take our time filing our very important papers. thanks for the quick reply...

No problem. You can always just file now (if you are ready), go visit again and send proof that you went back to the visa office after you have already applied.

They haven't quite finished with all the March, April and May applications, though it seems like they are starting to work on June, July and August ones while the other months are finishing up so you probably shouldn't expect too much yet.

Getting your notes is helpful though. There is a thread on how to do it.

That's right but from this thread, I've noticed one can hear from them anytime from the ninth month so I'm hopeful.

I hope you hear soon! Nigerian applications seem to take a little longer than those where the applicants are from Ghana. We think the Nigerian governments may be a little slower in getting their parts of the checks done.

Feel free to join the WhatsApp group if you haven't done so. Someone there is keeping a really comprehensive list of all the applicants, when they applied and what stage they are at. One June applicant has received an additional document request letter already, so they are moving!

You haven't ordered your notes? I got ours on Tuesday . It says that the next follow up date on our application is May 12 . But they may look at it before then, especially as I sent more info on Tuesday.

I am wanting to send more pictures and documents from recent trip to see husband and need advice. Has anyone done this and if so, how many can you upload?

U can send additional documents. I did d same without waiting for dem to ask. Dey started reviewing d additional documents since feb 15 on my gckey. June 1 applicant
So just send urs it helps too wen it cm to genuineness of ur relationship
